May’s Spiral

Now I cannot stop thinking about the act of ego in writing, creating, communicating in any form in general. An explosion of the self taken out and realized, how easily does this fire get turned and used to ends of manipulation, when considering the reader it becomes manipulative by nature.

Is it art if uncelebrated?

Is it art if it takes time to take in?

Is it art if its overdone and unwanted?

Is it art if it ends up in the bin?

I keep reading, in our greatest thought crafters, about the disenchantment and fundamental failings of our current iteration of society.

Democracy doesn’t work well for any of its denizens, and everyone suffers a new victimhood every day.

‘The cold waking up to the task’ works as a generality, but where does that leave me now? What’s my role in the purpose and how most effectively do I carry this out? Do I trust the reasoned instinct towards positive change, or enjoy the show as a chaos observer?

Is it years of constant diligent hard work, or a moment when you get to tip the scales to your side, however you decide, a tipping that triggers levers and gears beyond clear ken, webbing life. Look, I did something today. Did I?

Activities, socializations, should become focused around action, specifically something that works towards the social improvement, and less lounging around and enjoying life.

We seem to love these ideas of Metaphysics, because we are all more easily deluded into believing ourselves equal in understanding and ability to discuss, we seem to hold less trepidation of our possible ignorance of the matter in a way mere physics keeps reserved to those aware of the technical.

“Stanford Professor Andrei Linde Celebrates Physics Breakthrough”

The man hits perfectly the nail on the head: “Let us hope its not a trick. I always leave with this feeling: What if I am tricked? What if I believe in this just because its beautiful? What if?”

Machiavelli tells us – We’ll come back to Nicolo. Ed Harris has the greatest jaw in show.

The reason the Abrahamics do so well is because they believe the messiah is yet to come, so for an interval I think: it’s me.

Nicolo tells us that in international politics we should put morality and ethics to the side, as our only concern is for the people. Break promises if need be, war if its beneficial. Do we not have the same obligation as individuals to our own body? What is the real, actual difference between the system of government and a system of body? Is it not the body politic? Aren’t we akin to cells of the state, our organs the institutions that run us.

I feel, perhaps misguidedly, that a man’s primary obligation is to his loinal family, incorporating them into his sense of self, moving outward to community, society, state, world, universe beyond that.

Our first real – OK that’s too intense, let me qualify a little – one of our first real questions about our external selves, in regards to our social relationships and independence, is: how do I intend to serve? We mock this up in our individualism as the classic: what do you want to be when you grow up? What job do you imagine working, we ask, our intention being an inquiry into how this young person shall impact – preferably positively – our world. We reserve our highest praise for those who claim an aspiration towards medicine, foremost for doctors, by lesser degrees through nurse ranks down to technician. No duh, doctors well serve us all (supposedly). We fall easily, thoughtlessly, into this trap. As we age, we more and more often come to realize a sense of humility in our impact. We move from changing the world to changing our world. Perhaps this is a natural and beneficial step, a move away from megalomania, but it seems to me a fundamentally selfish transition. How can I change my world allows us to stand witness to horrors as long as their not inflict upon me or within my ken. My career progression becomes warped, concerned with moving up the ranks in my own small sphere and manipulating the smaller system I am in, rather than the wider social system that enslaves us all. This, then, leaves the manipulation of that wider social system purely in the hands that would use it for personal gain and self-aggrandizement. Those of us with humility resign ourselves to making small differences instead of the truly Christian ability of world-changing power. We resign ourselves to disciple instead of Christ.

I was a terrible dancer when younger. Before that, I thought I could tap dance at 3. I grew up and learned shame, so gave up on the movement. Yet good music always exists, great rhythm makers control us, and I cannot help but awaken again. Well constructed songs of a certain type – I want to be as bold as to leave it as well constructed songs, but know I’ll think of an exception – just make you feel the beat of your body, the power of your motion, the heavenly grandness that we find in our expression of dance. What happens to us, if not this, when Arcade Fire demand we Wake Up?

Sometimes I can’t believe it, I’m moving past the feeling. Let’s get ready to start.

The truth of “show don’t tell”?

Give us a show if we must read.

We ask our children to, at the very least the bare minimum, to not fall below the station they were born into. Our lowest expectation is the flat line of our parents.
